What are the system requirements?

Can I use NeuroActive® if I don't have Internet access?

No problem! The only difference is that you'll have to phone us for an activation code that we usually send online. Instructions and the number to call are clearly printed in both the software and in the user guide.

Will your software work on my Mac?

Absolutely – our Mac version is currently available.

Can I install the program on two computers?

Yes, it can be done in two ways. First, you can buy a two-computer edition of NeuroActive®, with two activation codes. If you bought the single-computer edition and want to add a second computer, just call us for a second activation code and upgrade to the two-computer edition, for only a fraction of the cost of buying the software again.

Will I be able to re-install my software if I reformat my computer?

If you reformat your computer, your activation code will still work and allow you to use NeuroActive®. If you replace the actual computer where the program was installed, you will need to contact Brain Center directly by phone or e-mail for a new activation code.

What is artificial intelligence and how is it used in NeuroActive®?

Basically, AI (artificial intelligence) is the developing field of computer science that develops machine systems that analyze their environments and react accordingly. The patented AI in our software ensures that your training level is always customized to your skills by constantly analyzing your reactions and answers and adapting the program accordingly. That's why NeuroActive® will work for you regardless of your intelligence or education level.

Will the exercises repeat themselves? Will I get bored after a month or two?

Absolutely not. The NeuroActive® software and its artificial intelligence are programmed so that the second, or third, or fourth time you do the same exercise, you will be presented with different material and questions. This program will train your brain for a very long time to come.

Is there a warranty? Can I get my money back if not satisfied?

NeuroActive® is the best brain-training program available, proven repeatedly by thousands of users all over the world and in clinical testing in 18 medical centers in Europe and North America. You'll get results if you use it as recommended, but as that requires a degree of commitment and regularity on your part which we can't control, unfortunately we cannot provide a guarantee of results. If a CD is defective (as opposed to damaged through improper care or handling), we'll naturally replace it at no cost if you return it to us immediately. Otherwise, returns will only be accepted if the product is returned unopened in its original packaging within 30 days, subject to a 20 percent restocking fee and a 5 percent credit card fee.

With an artificial intelligence component that customizes training to your skills, this patented program works out all aspects of the brain – 16 cognitive functions in all, among them verbal skills, processing speed, and memory (including the ability to remember names and faces). Will I get a higher IQ?

Recent tests conducted by independent scientists suggest that this type of program exerts substantial influence on the intelligence of the user. Our goal, however, is not to make you score higher on IQ tests, but to provide you with a sharper, better-performing and faster- processing brain that will be useful in your everyday life.

At Brain Center America, we're not fond of IQ tests, as they are often too closely correlated to the number of years the test-taker has attended school. NeuroActive® will benefit you regardless of the number of years you spent in school.

How often should I use the program?

For maximum efficiency and results, it is recommended that you practice for 15 to 20 minutes per session about three times a week for at least 8 consecutive weeks. Many users are so enthusiastic that they have made it part of their daily routine.

Will NeuroActive® help a child/teenager?

Absolutely -- the program was designed so that it can be used by anyone 13 years or older.

Will NeuroActive help a child/teenager with ADD, or someone with conditions like Alzheimer's, MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment), memory lapses, stroke, or traumatic brain injury?

The program was designed for, and tested by, healthy individuals. While brain-training software has produced positive results in people with Alzheimer's, MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment), severe memory problems, strokes, traumatic brain injuries or children with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), these studies will take years to complete. BCA therefore cannot guarantee NeuroActive's® results as a treatment for these conditions. On the other hand, unlike medication, the program has no drawbacks or side effects, so there's zero risk but tremendous potential.

How was the NeuroActive® program scientifically tested?

In addition to being rigorously developed by an international team of neuropsychologists and medical doctors with more than 20 years of experience in brain-training programs and caring for Alzheimer's patients, NeuroActive® was tested for months with patients in more than 18 medical centers in Europe and North America. Furthermore, Brain Center commissioned an independent research firm to assess the effects of the software on cognitive performance and psychological well-being.
